IHE
HEADQUARTERS
The Institute of Highway Engineers
puts Highway Engineers of all disciplines first. Primarily founded
to represent the professional interests of Incorporated Engineers
(IEng.) and Engineering Technicians (Eng Tech) IHE has moved with
the times and since 2007 has been approved by the Engineering Council
to appoint Chartered Engineer (CEng.) for suitably qualified applicants.
This enables members to fully develop their professional aspirations
"in house" with the benefit that they no longer have to seek additional
membership of like organisations to achieve this.
The IHE:
is your road to CEng, IEng and Eng Tech
brings together practitioners in the fields of traffic and highway
engineering
delivers new opportunities
improves members' competence
The IHE Advances your Career
Membership of the IHE improves career prospects by gaining CEng, IEng, or Eng Tech recognition. This is achieved through a fair but rigorous review by your peers to prove your professional commitment and technical competence.
Membership helps you move ahead through planned professional development including national and local conferences and training courses. Nationally, the Institute distributes journals including Highways and Surveyor and remains influential in technical policy.
The Institute serves Members in:
Highway Maintenance
Traffic and Transportation
Road Safety
Materials
Traffic Signal Control
Highway Design
Bridge Maintenance
Construction
Development Control
Safety Auditing
In recognition of the expansion of member services, the name of the institute will be changed to that of The Institute of Highway Engineers. Members will be advised when this "re-branding" will become effective.
For further information, application forms and general guidance, visit the IHE website on www.theihe.org. or contact the Southern Branch Secretary by email and he will arrange for a personal contact for you to discuss your development objectives. |
